Single Cell Reservoir Modelling Kit
A SaaS based model kit that is easy to build and maintain has been created for engineers to use in a multitude of scenarios. These scenarios include but are not limited to horizontal multi stage wells, water floods, solution drive and water drive reservoirs.
A tool to help make predictions on optimization and drilling programs
History
The historical procedure for predictions and forecasting for shallow gas wells was from type curves and decline analysis (not unlike today for horizontal multi stage wells). It became apparent that this was not a reliable method for predicting performance as newly drilled wells were consistently falling short on expectations. Durandal Solutions' model was built to better evaluate the performance of wells and be able to make a quick, more accurate predictions on optimization and drilling programs.
Model
The model combines transient and pseudo state rate calculations with material balance to be able to match historical production and make future predictions on such things as infill drilling and booster compression. The concept of the models is similar to the conventional reservoir models on the market today. The difference is that instead of using multi cells, this model uses a Single Cell. As in most cases a lot of the inputs that are used in a reservoir model are unknown. In other modelling software offered today using multiple cells will exponentially increase the effects of the unknowns on the model possibly making it less reliable. The Single Cell Model allows the engineer to make informed decisions and predictions easily and quickly, compared to the conventional models that can take days, weeks or months and still not give the desired output. The full blown models also require extensive and time consuming training to have the ability to run them effectively.
